Penn Trafford wins a swim meet against Penn Hills

After long and rigorous training over winter break, the Penn-Trafford swimming and diving team won their home meet against Penn Hills. The girls team won 90-44 and the boys team won 83-58.

The meet started with diving. Out of the three P-T divers, Caroline Davis was the only one to compete.

Penn-Trafford and Penn Hills students shake hands after the meet.

Before the swimming section started, the team huddled together and chanted to amp up their spirit. Then, the team splits into two smaller huddles, one being the girls team and the other being the boys team. This happens at every meet and has been a tradition for years.

The 50 Free started with the girls team again. Among these girls, Faith Whipple got a 27.74. For the boys, Patton Graziano got a 22.06.

The final event of the night was the 400 Free Relay. There was only one team for the girls relay, which resulted in a 4:19.82 time. For the boys relay, Team A had a 3:35.45, Team B had a 4:02.28, and Team C had a 4:41.59.

“The freshmen girls did really well, Connor Alexander qualified for WPIALs, and the boy’s 200 free was close,” swim coach Dave Babik mentioned regarding this meet’s highlights.
