It has been about five years since Penn-Trafford threw the fundraising dance MORP, but this year it makes a return.
The fun name of the dance is actually “prom” spelled backward, because all of the proceeds fund prom.
Student union president Brandon Bart said the student council is serving as the committee for MORP and prom this year to make it easier on everyone else.
“We have thought of all the ideas thus far, but we are open to suggestions from people outside of the club,” said Bart.
Bart added how the student council has been preparing for MORP by organizing dates and establishing reasonable ticket prices that will raise enough money for prom funding.
The dance will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 7-10 p.m., and no one will be permitted to leave the school until 9:30 p.m.
The ticket sales are planned to happen from Monday, Feb. 14 Wednesday, Feb. 23.
Each ticket will be $15, and the sales will happen during lunches.
The dance is to raise money for only Penn-Trafford’s prom; therefore, no outside guests are permitted.
Student union advisor Stephanie Martini said there will be no tickets sold after the 23rd, so if you are on the restricted list make sure you are off before then.
As MORP is new to most students, students should know the dance is supposed to be stress-free, and less formal than Homecoming or Prom.
MORP is a neon-themed dance, so students can wear their neon and come to have a good time with friends.
“I hope this dance raises enough money so P-T can have a great 2022 Prom! I also hope everyone has a fun, stress-free night since we can all use one of those once in a while,” said Martini.
Senior class representative Jude Lovre along with Bart are hoping for a big turnout for the dance because it will be a good time for everyone.
