P-T Boys Hockey All Stars continue to impress

As the boys of Penn-Trafford hockey continue their winning stretch, the all star rosters have been handed out, and three boys have been named from P-T: seniors Ryan Mickey, Jack Hughes, and Ethan Tamborski.

The team is currently 7-5 and have just come off of a big win against Plum, though they dropped a game against Latrobe.  The Warriors appear to have more success as the season goes on, however, and that is in part because of the play of their all stars.

Mickey has 23 points on the season, with 14 goals and nine assists.  Tamborski has 13 points with four goals and nine assists as a defensemen and Hughes also has 23 points with 14 goals and nine assists.

“It has been a pretty good season, I’ve played one of the best seasons I have ever played,” said Mickey.  He added he hopes that his team can continue its success and continue to play at a high level.

“It’s a cool opportunity to be on the all-star roster, but it does not change my outlook on the season.  I hope to make playoffs, work harder, and go further.”

The team seems to be playing more collectively, and coaches and players seem are noticing a change.

“As a team, [we can] improve more on defensive zone coverage to create more offense, we’re playing well and progressing as a team as the season goes on,” said Tamborski.  He also reflected on his all-star selection.

“It’s just a cool experience, but I need to do better at putting up points.”

Hughes had also made the all-star roster, but unfortunately, he had broken his collarbone and is projected to be out for at least four weeks.  It is not clear whether he will be able to play for the rest of the season.

The team hopes to get on without one of their leaders and all-stars, but they seem to believe in their chances and hope to gather a couple more wins, sneak into the playoffs, and make a championship run.
