Senior Rachel Sich has been a water Warrior for four years. She spoke about her senior year and the upcoming swimming season.
Q: How would you describe this year so far?
A: It has been a busy yet fun year. The whole college application process was stressful, but I am excited to see what the future has in store.
Q: Can you give me a high and low point from the year?
A: A high point was being voted co-captain of the swim team. There hasn’t really been any low points yet thank goodness.
Q: What is your favorite class?
A: Practical Computer Applications with Mrs. [Carol] Palmer, because she is hands-down the best teacher ever.
Q: How long have you been swimming?
A: I have been swimming for as long as I can remember. I started on a competitive team when I was seven years old.

A: I usually swim the 100m butterfly or freestyle events.
Q: What would you say is your best event?
A: The 100m butterfly or 100m freestyle.
Q: Who are some swimmers you’ve become friends with through swimming?
A: I have made some of my best friends through swimming. Hannah Muro and Corina Paszek are two that I can definitely say I became friends with through swimming.
Q: Would you say the swim team is a like a family?
A: Definitely. We are all really close and are friends outside of the pool.
Q: What will you miss most about the swim team?
A: I’ll miss the atmosphere at meets and practices where you have an entire team believing in what you can do, supporting you and encouraging you.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: I’ll miss seeing so many of my friends every day.
Q: Where will you be going after high school?
A: Good question! Right now I am accepted at Pitt and Penn State and need to make a decision on where I want to go.
Q: Any particular plans for the future?
A: I plan on attending either Pitt or Penn State to study computer science.
