Penn-Trafford girls volleyball defeated the school’s rival, the Norwin Knights 3-2 on Oct. 18, P-T’s senior night. Since P-T won they will likely be placed higher in seeding for playoffs than if they lost.
Norwin took the first two matches. The score of the first was 25-23. This game was very intense; the scores were always within three points of each other while the lead went back and forth between the teams. Both P-T and Norwin hustled, yet Norwin came out on top.
The second game’s score was 26-24. P-T started off strong with a large lead, but Norwin came back to trail by one. There were many ups and downs, but eventually Norwin battled their way to the top.
There was a turnaround in game three. P-T won with a score of 27-25, breaking a five game losing streak against Norwin. P-T fought their way from behind to take the lead at 11-10, and from then on it was a shared lead, all the way until the very last point.
P-T went into the fourth game with their confidence high, which helped them earn another win, 25-18. Unlike the past three games, P-T dominated over Norwin.
With a 2-2 score, the final game determined the overall win or loss. P-T came through by winning with a score of 16-14. The team was behind and fought their way little by little to end up beating Norwin, 3-2. The team will find out the date of the first playoff game on Monday Oct. 24.
