On brisk night in Harrison City the Penn-Trafford Warriors boys soccer team played the Norwin Knights in a huge rivalry game that was for more than just bragging rights: It was for the section title. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for the Warriors, bragging rights, and a section title in hand.
It did not take long for the Warriors offense to get hot. Junior Austin Kreutzberger scored an early goal slashing in front of the net to make it 1-0 not even 10 minutes into the game. Then with 25 minutes to go in the first half a Norwin player deflected a ball and scored an own goal.
The goal was credited to Junior Nick Tarabrella, making it 2-0.
The Warriors played strong defense in the first half as the Knights could barely get a shot on net. P-T goalkeeper Zach Werksman did not see much action in the first half. To start the second half Kreutzberger struck again with his second goal of the game making it a huge 3-0 lead for the Warriors.
At this point the deficit was just too much for the Knights. They tallied their lone goal of the night with just over 32 minutes to go in the game. From that point on, the P-T defense played tough again with a few balls bouncing around in front of the net but allowing nothing to come out of it.
The 3-1 Warriors victory not only clinched the section but also extended their winning streak to eight games.
